Cooking with HEMP

Cooking with HEMP

We LOVE cooking with hemp...whether it's hemp seed, hemp oil, hemp flour...hemp makes a great addition to many dishes! Not only do hemp seeds contain a generous amount of essential Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acids, they also contain gamma-linolenic acid, which supports the normal function and growth of cells, nerves, muscles, and organs throughout your body.

Sometimes adding a slightly nutty flavor, hemps seeds are about 25 percent protein and also provide nutrients including vitamin E, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, calcium, iron, and zinc....say hello to ENERGY, GOOD SKIN, HEALTHY HEARTS, GOOD DIGESTION and MORE when you add hemp to your diet!

The following are a few of our favorite recipes that include hemp. Enjoy!

  • 1 cup peanut butter (or alternate nut butter)
  • 8-10 pitted dates
  • 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1-2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup shelled hempseed
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
1. In a food processor, pulse together peanut butter, dates, coconut, and cocoa powder until dates are blended in.
2. Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in hempseed and oats until well combined and the mixture resembles a thick cookie dough. If needed, add more peanut butter or hempseed/oats.
3. Scoop out by the tablespoon and roll into balls. Place on waxed paper and store in the fridge until ready to eat.
